Family Engagement

Parent Engagement

My name is Alison Rogers and I am the Family Engagement Officer for Monnow Primary School. Please keep a check on our School Twitter site and our website for the latest opportunities to come in and work with your children. We are always looking for parent volunteers so do come in and speak to the office.

This year at Monnow  we are continuing our Reading Café. These are opportunities for you to come in to school to read and discuss books with your child. It is proven that when children see their parents engaging with school life they learn more! These sessions are informal, fun and a really good way to meet other parents and build friendships.

'Jesus Cares' Parcels

Jesus Cares are an organisation based in Newport which aims to deliver food parcels to families across Newport. Pop into the office to take a bag home with you.

Open Mornings

All parents are invited to Monnow's 'Open Mornings' every Friday from 9.00am - 9.30am. This allows parents an opportunity to engage with their child's learning, become familiar with the learning environment, and join in with class activities.

Class Assemblies

Each term every class prepares a showcase to demonstrate the work that they have undertaken in class. This is an opportunity for parents to come and share their child's achievements. Assemblies are classroom based and start 9.10am. Dates are provided by the class teacher via 'Schoop'.
