Student Voice

Student Voice

The’ student voice’ at Monnow is an integral part of the School’s ethos.  The committee ensure that all pupils opinions are shared and valued. We have representatives from Reception through to Year Six and meetings are held regularly to ensure that the voice of all pupils is heard. Monnow prides itself on making learning independent and the student voice committee is just one of the many ways in which this is achieved.

How it Works

Pupils in every class throughout the school vote to select two class members to represent their class on the Student Voice.

We meet regularly and have a large say in what goes on in school! The committee is organised in the following way

  • Chairperson
  • Vice chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Vice Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Vice treasurer
  • Other members

Minutes of our meetings are posted on the student voice notice board. We are working towards our action plan. We have ordered playground resources for our school and purchased large bear bins for all our litter. We have also arranged for pupils to come and have some fruit in the hall during lesson time, to recharge their batteries.
